A Peek Over The Plans: Maricopa is Building a Bright Future (Volume 14)

MARICOPA, AZ – September 21, 2020

Contractors, developers, and small business owners have been utilizing our existing virtual services to ensure that their projects continue on schedule! Maricopa continues to ensure work gets done while still being responsible and following public health guidelines and instructions. Below is a recap of development near Sonoran Creek, one of the many exciting projects happening around our city. During the development process the project may change slightly from what is depicted.

Sprouts

Sonoran Creek is a retail development on the southwest corner of John Wayne Parkway and Edison Road with over 85,000 sq ft of space. Anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, the project has received entitlement and design approval and has begun pulling engineering and building permits. Sprouts offers a wide selection of natural and organic foods, including fresh produce and bulk foods, in addition to vitamins, supplements, and household items. The development will create over 282 new jobs with an annual payroll of over $10.4 million.

Brake Masters

Brake Masters launched in Tucson in the 1980’s, and their newest location will provide additional automotive products and services to Maricopa’s growing population. Located directly behind the existing Culver’s, Brake Masters will occupy 5,400 square feet of new building detached from Sonoran’s Creek anchor building. More than just brakes, Brake Masters offers oil changes, tire rotation, air conditioning repair, and more.

Discount Tire

Discount Tire launched in the 1960’s, and their headquarters is located in Scottsdale. Their newest location will provide additional automotive products and services to Maricopa’s growing population. Located directly north of the existing Dutch Bros Coffee, Brake Masters will occupy nearly 8,200 square feet of new building detached from Sonoran’s Creek anchor building. Discount Tire is now the largest independent tire and wheel retailer in the world.

Overall Site Plan

Sonoran Creek is a massive, welcome addition to the City of Maricopa. This development, and the slew of commercial offerings that come with it, will continue to provide local options for Maricopans looking for shopping, dining, and services. This includes The Joint Chiropractic, State Farm Insurance, Jimmy John’s, and Filiberto’s Mexican Food. The development is expected to be complete in 2021.
